Express and Respond to Doubt.

Expressing Doubt	Responding to Doubt
I’m not sure. I doubt it. I’m not sure about that. I’m doubtful.	Please don’t worry. Take it easy. Everything will be fine. Come on...

Examples:

1. Mr. Juliansyah : Can you do this exercise?

Bagas : I’m not sure?

Mr. Juliansyah : Come on. Sure you can.

2. Mother : This recipe is very simple.

Noni : Well, I don’t know. There are a lot of steps here.

Mother : Take it easy. We will do it together.

A. Task 1

Rearrange these sentences to be a good dialog!

1. James : No, I’m not. That’s true. I read the announcement in Teen Magazine.

2. Nita : Thanks.

3. James : Your Band won the 2009 music competition.

4. Nita : Oh my God.

5. James : Guess what Nita. I’ve got good news for you.

6. Nita : Did you bring the magazine with you?

7. James : I’m so happy for you. I’m sure your band will be successful someday.

8. Nita : What is it Jim?

9. James : Yes, I did. Here, take a look.

Make dialogs based on the following situations then practice with your friends:

1. You ask your friend to meet after class but your friend is doubtful. You respond to his/ her doubt.

2. Your friend asks you to teach her/ him English, but you are not certain that you can. Your friend responds to your doubt.

3. You ask your friend to cook something for the study club but she/ he is doubtful about that. Respond to him/ her.

4. Your friend asks you to come early tomorrow morning, but you are not sure you can make it. Your friend responds to your doubt.

2. Herza : Are you sure this the right way?

Aditya : Trust me. I know what I’m doing.
